The following sustainable fashion events are all FREE and completely online. Consider registering for any event you are interested in attending! It is never too late to take out a notebook and pen to join the sustainable fashion movement. Virtual Sip and Sew by Chicago Sews 

This event invites you to relax, sip your favorite drink and to be creative with like-minded individuals. Everyone is invited, no matter if you are a beginner or a seasoned sewer. Meetings happen on every first Friday at 6pm to share sewing tips, techniques and to work on fun projects together. You can also share stories, ask questions and make new friends!

Muchaneta, the founder of Shape Innovate and FashionNerd.com will explore this topic and also how innovative tech solutions are simplifying compliance.

Africa Regional Cotton Round Table Summit by Textile Exchange

This virtual roundtable will discuss the sustainable cotton production in Africa by exploring recent challenges, developments and opportunities. Invited regional and and international stakeholders will explore the best production and social practices in the region and how to accelerate sustainable cotton production in Africa, including organic, BCI, CMiA, regenerative, and agroecological production. The meeting will be led by Textile Exchange’s Regional Ambassador for Africa, Silvère Tovignan, with options to participate in English and French.

Workshop: Textile Trash: The Art of Sustainability and Salvage Sewing by Portland State University Textile Arts Program

Led by Isabella Diorio, sustainable fashion designer, this sustainability workshop will combine upcycling and zero waste patterning strategies with non-traditional fabric techniques. This hands-on event will be livestreamed from Portland State University’s Sewing Lab. Bring either a t-shirt, button-up or plastic grocery bags to join in!

Textile Waste Opportunities for Circular Textile, Garments and Footwear in Vietnam by Global Fashion Agenda

This webinar led by GFA with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to share insights around circular fashion by providing an understanding of the GCFF’s vision and potential impact in establishing a Circular Fashion Partnership in Cambodia and Vietnam. In addition, speakers will delve into trends, technologies and strategies creating sustainable practices within the fashion industry. It will also scope interest in the project from recyclers, manufacturers and brands within the Vietnam region.
